Twitter is down again, its 1996 all over again

This reminds me of the early days of SaaS when all the electronic trading platforms like eTrade and eBay used to go down due to traffic. People forget that this is just part of the growing pains a start-up who is on the bleeding edge experiences. Most of the time bandwith and server capacity can be estimated properly to understand how much activity they can handle. The issue comes when the amount of traffic exceeds the planned limit. Its the challenge to balance responsible spending, while maintaining the highest customer experience.

I remember when Pointcast was estimated to be 60% of traffic on the internet. I wonder what % of internet traffic tweets account for? If anyone knows, tell me.
