Chances are you code sucks. Mine still does at times, but it has improved greatly in the last 5 years. 7:56:34 AM

If you are like most, and possibly even all, programmers then your code sucks. Maybe not all of it, and maybe not all the time, but certainly some of it, some of the time....

I've just put up my latest article on PragmaticProgrammer.com.

It's a short piece exposing one of the most important, but most neglected elements of our profession: learning. We are learning all the time -- not just new technology (even though there's a shedload of that), but learning the application domain, the evolving dynamics of the team and the project under construction, and more.

Now I've got a question for all of you reading this blog. Are you interested in hearing more about this sort of thing? There's a lot of cool -- and helpful -- stuff about how we can improve our skills and improve how we acquire more skills. If you'd like to hear more about this topic, drop me a line. If enough people flood me with email, I might just start writing a book. (Conversely, if there's some other topic that you're just dying to read about, let me know that as well!) Thanks. -- /ndy (andy@pragprog.com)
