I have been working from home for the past week now. It is taking a bit to get used to. I worked in my last job for the past 4 years. That's a long time for me. Before that, I worked for startups and did consulting work. The longest job I had was 18 months. The biggest thing I miss is my team. Over those four years, I gathered a bunch of incredibly smart people I knew I could depend upon. Even when the work was stressful or stale, I enjoyed coming to work because of my team.

Over the past year, my group was decimated by layoffs, questionable management decisions and the downturn in the economy. Not many are left. I have a picture of my original team that was with me for most of the four years. Only one remains.

However, it does give me a goal. I will get this new business up and running then begin putting that team back together. We have great chemistry together and I want to have that again. This time, it's my company, my rules, my ass one the line.

One step backward to make three forward!
